MADISON — The final holiday weekend of the summer is nearly upon us and millions of travelers are getting ready to hit the road for the Labor Day weekend.
The price at the pump is lower than last year, but prices have been rising in the last few weeks. The national average of regular gasoline is $3.186 per gallon, which is up from $3.130 last week and up from $3.150 last month. However, the price is down from a year ago when it was at $3.350, according to AAA Wisconsin.
In Wisconsin, average gas prices are at $3.048 per gallon for regular, which is up from $2.834 last week and up from $2.906 last month. However, the price is down from last year’s price of $3.229.
