BELOIT – A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 1 at the corner of East Grand Avenue and State Street to officially open the 400 block of East Grand Avenue. The section of Grand Avenue has been closed since March 2 for a road reconstruction project. Those attending the ribbon-cutting can inspect the updated sidewalks, visit businesses on Grand Avenue, and listen to the music of Nick and Friends. The first outdoor Farmers Market of the season will fill State Street and East Grand Avenue from 8 a.m. — 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, featuring dozens of vendors.
