BELOIT — Before heading out for the backyard barbecue or other Memorial Day weekend activities, the Downtown Beloit Association is inviting people to enjoy a little lunch and music as Fridays in the Park kicks off for the season on Friday.
The weekly lunch-time outing is held from 11:30 a.m. — 1:30 p.m. at BankFirst Plaza (formerly First National Bank Plaza) at the corner of State Street and Grand Avenue.
Downtown business owners and employees often take a break for lunch, which is offered by a different vendor each week, and different bands and entertainers provide live music each week, with some guests event taking a turn on the dance floor.
The Beloit Memorial High School Jazz Band is traditionally the first musical act to kick off Fridays in the Park and this year keeps that tradition alive. The Jazz Band is fresh from their performance at the prestigious Essentially Ellington high school band competition in New York City.
Truk’t Street Tacos will provide the lunch fare for the day, offering delicious food for $10.
