BELOIT — Beloit College is one of 60 recipients of grant funding to promote character development through education.
The funding comes from the Lilly Endowment Inc., which supports the Educating Character Initiative, which was launched at Wake Forest University in North Carolina. The money will go to the Educating for Character: A Virtue Framework for Beloit College initiative. The amounts each school received were not listed. The projects could receive up to $50,000 in funding.
Matthew Tedesco, professor of philosophy, Sonya Maria Johnson, associate professor of religious studies and critical identity studies, and Ron Watson, dean of students and associate provost, will lead the effort.
