BELOIT — The arts always have found a home in Beloit. Art exhibits often are featured at the Beloit Art Center, the Wright Museum at Beloit College, at the Beloit Public Library, as well as in downtown businesses.

The tradition of shining the spotlight on art and artist will continue with the return of a Beloit Art Walk, which is planned for Friday, June 5 at three locations.

Jo Christofferson, treasurer of the Beloit Art Center, said the Downtown Beloit Association used to host an art walk, and she noted other communities host art walks, so the Beloit Art Center and the Wright Museum of Art at Beloit College began talking about a partnership to promote an art walk.

She said the event is free and the locations are pretty much within walking distance of each other.

Featured during the Art Walk will be the opening reception for the 68th Annual Beloit and Vicinity Exhibit set for 4:30 — 6 p.m. at the Wright Museum of Art, 700 College St. on the Beloit College campus.
